This is an extremely hands-on workshop, and you’ll have one-on-one guidance from both Haley and Kelli throughout the day. After covering the basics and having some lunch, attendees will make their way through a variety of stations where you’ll get to practice everything you’ve learned. Attendees will walk away with multiple photos of self-styled scenes that you can turn into prints, t-shirts, notecards, etc. or to use as references for your own artistic renderings.

All produce, florals, props, and textiles will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring a few items of your own to shoot as well (for example, a handmade object, a familial heirloom, something you’ve baked or preserved, an obscure food item). Attendees will not be provided with a camera but are encouraged to use any digital camera, mobile device camera, disposable/ film camera.

Students will also receive…

Please note:

  • Welcome Home Studio is on the second floor of a building that does not have elevator access.

  • If you are BIPOC or Trans, the ‘reduced admission’ option is here for you if you wish to use it, however you are not obligated nor expected to. It is our intention to honor our attendees individual circumstances by addressing the inaccessibility of art centered activities due to economic inequality and the vast history of oppression within our capitalist society. If you would like to pay a reduced admission rate, please do so at check out. We will not make assumptions or denials, nor ask you to explain or prove your decision - we trust that you will only select this option if it is appropriate to you.
Our reduced admission is readily available to you if you:
    • are a black, brown, indigenous, or otherwise non-white person
    • are a trans person

    Other things to consider:
When I pay the full admission, I know that I am helping the artist support themselves, when I pay the reduced admission, I know I am letting my community hold me and support me. Both of these are acceptable ways of participating.
